Eva's is continuing to provide care for our community during the COVID-19 pandemic

Your  gift of any amount will be life-changing!
IF EVA'S WEREN'T HERE more of our vulnerable neighbors would be facing desperate choices - forced to choose between food and medicine or rent. Instead -
  • They can come to us for nutritious meals instead of rummaging through dumpsters.
  • They come to us for shelter, recovery, health, and hope instead of trying to survive on icy streets.
  • Imagine where they would be without the support you provide.
  • COVID has created a health crisis for our neighbors and a funding crisis for Eva's Village.

Since we switched from sit-down dining to meals to-go over a year ago, our Community Kitchen has been busier than ever. We are serving weekday to- go meals as the pandemic forces more of our neighbors to choose between food, medicine and rent -and we continue to provide three meals a day for the men, women and children living in our Halfway Houses and Shelters.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, we have adapted to keep life-saving programs and services open  to ensure that those who rely on us receive the help they need. At the same time, we are following government guidelines to protect the health and safety of our clients, community members, staff and volunteers:
  • We are caring for 200+ residents in our Halfway Houses and Shelters.
  • We are making sure that residents who become ill receive care  in safe quarantine settings during this crisis
  • Our Community Kitchen is still providing 300-400 “to-go” meals each day for food- and housing-insecure  community members
  • We are continuing to provide recovery support for community members struggling with substance use disorders and mental health issues through in-person peer support, telehealth services, telephone outreach, and a peer support hotline

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP VITAL SERVICES GOING DURING THIS CRISIS!

The work we do is challenging, but every day we witness miracles of renewal and recovery!

What is Eva's Village?
Eva's Village breaks the cycle of poverty and addiction through our unique and integrated approach. Our interconnected community of recovery and support services, located on a 3-block campus in Paterson, NJ, helps thousands of men, women, and children each year by addressing basic needs of food and shelter, as well as complex issues around addiction, mental illness, and chronic homelessness.
Our model is unique. Our results are real. Our success is measured in lives - renewed, restored, and reborn.

Meet our Heroes

Every day, we are inspired by the men, women, and children we serve - who exhibit strength and resilience as they face challenges related to addiction, mental and physical health, poverty, and homelessness.

We follow the words of our founder Msgr. Vincent Puma: "When you take somebody's hand, you cannot let it go until they can stand on their own two feet." We extend our hand to all who are in need, and they in turn extend their hands to help others along the path to wellness and stability.

We also recognize that each person's journey is different - and a journey can begin with something as simple as a meal.
