Opioid Overdose Recovery Program (OORP) Removes Barriers to Patient Recovery
To combat the growing opioid crisis, Eva’s Village partnered with the City of Paterson and other nonprofit agencies with the Opioid Overdose Recovery Program (OORP). Eva’s Certified Peer Recovery Specialists – who are not only trained, but also have lived experience with addiction and recovery - are available 24 hours a day.
Emergency Room patients at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center who have survived an opioid overdose or are struggling with opioid substance use disorder are assisted by Peer Recovery Specialists to access detox or other treatment services, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), as well as safe shelter, food and clothing, and other basic needs. The Specialist also provides vital peer support to the patient as they navigate their road to recovery.
For more information on the Opioid Overdose Recovery Program, or if you or someone you know needs help, contact Euclides Mateo, MA, NAADAC, CPRS, OORP Patient Navigator at 973-314-1319 or email her.
